Background: Northwest Hardwoods is a world class, Integrated, global supplier of wood products to the furniture, cabinet, moulding and millwork industries. We serve the industry market segment worldwide. We are searching for a Transportation Professional who is a team player, enjoys a challenge and thrives in a fast pasced environment.


Key Functions: Load tendering, negotiating domestic and export freight and logistics management. Candidate should have strong negotiating skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work closely with individuals form diverse cultures, backgrouds and geograhhies. Candidate should be fimliar with our production and software system which is key to performing the day to day planning and prioritization of shipments in conjunction with product management, sales managers and the sales team, and other duties as assigned.

Domestic Transportation duties will include procurement of rates and carriers, tendering full truck load and occasional less than truck load (LTL) shipments, shipment tracking, rail shipments and submission of shipping instructions, following up with carriers and customers and freight reconcillation with Accounts Payable. Hours will be 9am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday.


Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to a changing team based work environment. Organizational skills which include management of multipe priorities, working well under pressure, learning in a changing enviroment, attention to detail and excellent attendance. Ability to shift priorities and manage time effectively, completing a variety of work with changing deadlines accurately and on time. Leardership skills to be able to supervise other dispatch personal. Computer and Software System skills required. 3 years Transportation/Logistics experience preferred.
