JOB DESCRIPTION

Ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility. Residential, commercial, military experience and Technical school completion will be considered.  Working safely is paramount.  Candidate must be capable of both working as part of a team and working independently.  This position will provide the right person with an opportunity to gain knowledge, expand skills and work with a great team of dedicated maintenance personnel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable and proficient with reading/understanding blueprints, diagrams or schematics – able to interpret and apply National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience maintaining/troubleshooting/replacing/installing industrial controls and electrical distribution systems
  • Experience with various AC and DC electronic drives and soft starts
  • EL-01 or EL-07 is a plus
  • Experience configuring/troubleshooting Industrial process networks is a plus
  • Experience programming/troubleshooting PLCs is a plus
  • Must provide personal hand tools and be able to work any shift, including Holidays/weekends/overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

Position Summary:  As a member of our operations team, the successful candidate for this position will supervise the daily yard operations.

Description:

  • Supervise daily operation of lumber stacker, dry kilns, piledown and shipping
  • Lead employees to safely meet production goals
  • Be able to learn and train employees in JSA’s and SOP’s and safety policies to assure adherence to the NWH safety program
  • Schedule stacker and piledown lines to keep green, dry and finished lumber inventories in balance
  • Be able to learn and be proficient at Lumbertrack system to complete work orders, enter and monitor shipments
  • Manage the finished lumber inventory, keeping lumber organized and building loads to ship in a timely manner
  • Work closely with quality control, shipping and kiln supervisors

 

Skills/requirements:

  • Have good communication skills, working closely with manager and other supervisors
  • Have basic skills in email, MS Word and MS Excel
  • Extended hours, including weekend shifts, may be required based on sawmill hours and lumber inventories
  • Be able to learn to operate forklift

Veneer Log Sales Coordinator – Marienville, PA

We are seeking an individual who has the qualifications, interest, and desire to join our Timber Department to conduct Log Sales, at our Marienville, PA division.

 

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • In conjunction with the Resource Manager, coordinate and implement all aspects of the log sale program.
  • Oversee Log Sale Yard staff and direct daily operations of the Log Sale Yard.
  • Evaluate, prepare and sort incoming tree length logs for marketing or for the sawmill.
  • Schedule, prepare and conduct veneer sales with existing customers.
  • Prepare export saw log loads and coordinate saw log sales with multiple existing customers.
  • Schedule Phyto inspections with the USDA inspector.
  • Oversee loading of containers and provide necessary documentation to customers.

 

The Requirements:

 

  • Personality: Upbeat, energetic personality encouraged!
  • Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking & Follow-through: The ability to keep track of multiple priorities and tasks, and see them through to completion is crucial.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Education:

 

  • Preferred: Associates / Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or Forestry Management and/ or 2 – 5 years of professional experience.

Our Front Royal location has an immediate full-time Knuckle-boom Operator opening for a person with the following work habits: Safety-oriented, positive can-do-attitude, good work ethic, reliable, ability to follow instructions and team player with demonstrated initiative.

 

We are seeking an experienced operator that has knowledge of log scaling and hardwood species identification.

 

The job applicant will also need to be an experienced Log lift operator.

 

Log scaling and HW spec ID would be a plus.

 

A high-school diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Candidates must be able to work any shift, including holidays and weekend work. Overtime is expected.
