The successful candidate for this position will interface directly with purchasing, sales, customs brokers, warehouse locations and truckers to ensure cost effective and seamless routing of shipments to designated locations

Key Functions:

  • Responsible for monitoring shipments as they depart the foreign port.
  • ISF submitted timely and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with assigned locations by using pro-active communication and providing timely and accurate information.
  • Follow all shipments through to final delivery.
  • Review weekly reports for exceptions or arrival discrepancies.
  • Update shipment progress and communicate updated status to sales.
  • Ensure accuracy of documents provided by suppliers.
  • Coordinate with import brokers on timely customs clearance.
  • Process freight payables in a timely manner, send delivery notices and confirm final delivery of shipment.
  • Classify HTS codes on new product requests.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to a changing team based work environment.
  • Organizational skills which include management of multiple priorities, working well under pressure, learn in a changing environment, attention to detail and excellent attendance. Computer and Software System skills required.
  • Knowledge of HTS codes.
  • Extensive import experience and customs knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain reports for monthly senior management reviews.
  • Develop ad hoc reporting for proposal efforts in developing the business and strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.

  • Annual planning data collection, analysis and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

  • Fabrications – Capable of fabricating from drawings and sketched and rebuildingof existing parts.

  • Good welding and cutting skills.

Key Functions: The Transportation Manager is responsible for oversight of all international and domestic freight. The individual will work closely with our internal partners to ensure all shipments adhere to US import / export regulations and established customer timelines. Additionally, this position will maintain and establish internal processes to streamline order efficiency by leveraging their knowledge of best business practices in the areas of distribution networking, freight lane optimization and warehousing.

The essential duties and responsibilities are:

  • Leads priorities, goals and metrics for department and individual performance
  • Provides domestic scorecards illustrating key performance indicators related to truckload (OTR), less-than-truckload (LTL), rail and parcel service levels
  • Interprets, implements and follows-up on government regulations as necessary
  • Directs daily operations for all inbound and outbound freight (both domestic and international) and carrier rate/cost management, utilizing Freight Management System (FMS)
  • Directs company fleet maintenance, licensing, and registration
  • Directs dedicated cross-dock fleet ensuring timely delivery of product and key performance indicators (KPI) performance
  • Assists in the development of improved transportation expertise and practices including negotiation of transportation contracts; familiar with all modes and regulations, providers, etc.
  • Leads domestic transportation requests for pricing and contracts for all modes (LTL, Parcel, TL, Rail, etc.) including contract negotiations, legal reviews, data analysis and reporting
  • Responsible for motivating, training, recruitment, retention and career development of the Transportation Team
  • Assists in the development of expense plan, controls and measurements to monitor progress, including service-level agreements
  • Understands best practice metrics and the requirements for operational compliance / commitment and is a key leader in meeting the guidelines for effective service levels and risk management
  • Demonstrates support for the merchandising and stores organizations by fostering effective communication
  • Leads in the development of metrics, systems and best practices

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a supply chain management or related field
  • Three to five years of supply chain management experience with an emphasis in international trade
  • Three to five years of supply chain or operational supply chain analysis experience
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Products ;Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices relevant to accounts receivable/payable
  • Periodic travel is required (less than 10%)
  • Experience with managing employees
  • Two to three years of distribution industry experience preferred

We have an immediate opening, seeking a world-class Sales Representative with strong Customer Service skills to join our team. This is a full-time position that reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Key Functions: This role is a Sales Representative in the Southern California / Mexico market that will manage customers and programs by promoting and selling industrial wood products within the local market. This role coordinates shipments of inventory from our mills, inventory management, purchasing function, product development, warehouse operations, sales order processing, trouble shooting and support of the credit function.

Requirements: Ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial products, i.e., domestic and imported hardwood lumber, domestic and imported panels, millwork, etc. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish. Strong customer partnership and consultative selling skills, computer literate with a positive can-do attitude who is committed to being a team player and a high achiever.  Some Industrial Wood Product sales experience is preferred but not required. Preferred degree.

Key Functions:  Keys on the development and optimization of sound S&OP practices and mill/sales analytics to optimize profitability.  Primary objectives include:

 

  • Working with cross functional teams of operations and sales/marketing in the areas focused on forecasting accuracies and demand planning.
  • Lead the S&OP process including forecast development, consensus demand plans and gaining full alignment with the business team.
  • Establish annual forecast accuracy targets that optimize inventory levels, price and profitability. Measure weekly/monthly forecast error results versus established targets and identify and report on root cause for forecast error below targets
  • Work closely with Product Management & Operations to improve forecast accuracy, frequency of updates and potential operational impacts
