As a member of the Accounting team at Northwest Hardwoods (NWH), this role will manage a team of accounts payable professionals located in Tacoma, WA and Tuscumbia, AL.  This role is based in Tacoma, WA. The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for managing, planning and directing the workflow, daily operations, and continual development of systems and processes of the accounts payable team.  The individual will maintain the standards of excellence set forth in the department, and communicate and solve complex problems with other departments, managers, employees, auditors and outside agencies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the processing of vendor invoices, recurring payments, reimbursements, ACH, wires and expense reports
  • Develop, implement and monitor internal audit controls to result in zero deficiencies
  • Create and interpret dashboards to identify, monitor and resolve process inefficiencies
  • Create reporting and analysis as required by our leadership team
  • Manage projects and driving process change; researching and resolving compliance issues
  • Responsible for month and quarter end and year end close/accruals
  • Serve as a resource to staff, department managers and others for interpreting policies, procedures and regulations relating to A/P.
  • Collaborate with leadership and others across brands to facilitate best practices for invoice approval and escalation
  • Participate in the selection, configuration, testing, process redesign and training for our AP automation initiatives

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 7 – 10 years of diverse experience in Accounts Payable
  • 3-5 years of experience leading and developing departmental staff
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational and project management skills
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management to build partnerships with various departments
  • The ability to interact with external auditors to ensure successful audits
  • Experience with Great Plains desired
  • Experience in establishing or working in a shared service center desired
  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel including V-look ups, pivot tables, and other related software applications
  • Strong customer-oriented solution and advocacy mind-set.
  • Confident and willing to express contrary opinions, while also being open to divergent opinions without being defensive.
  • The ability to align the resources of the accounts payable function to support business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a high degree of self-awareness.
  • Ability to identify and analyze organizational needs with solid problem-solving abilities.
  • Experienced at providing mentorship in establishing vision and goals with a track record of developing team members.

Job Description/Expectations/Key Functions:

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities for the following:

  • Grind, swage, and shape band saws, round saws, and chipper knives.
  • Clean, mill, and set saw guides.
  • Bench band and round saws.
  • Ability to tip round and band saws and pour babbit guides
  • Perform maintenance on grinders, side grinders, tipper, and milling equipment
  • Grind bandmills
  • Line up headrigs and rotary gangs
  • Troubleshoot saw issues such as lumber marking or off size lumber

 

Requirements:

  • An understanding of sawmill manufacturing operations with a priority on working safely.
  • Must be willing and have the aptitude to learn all filing room tasks and change all saws and canter knives.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Practice good house keeping.
  • Must supply some of your own tools.
  • Overtime may be required, as well as periodically working different shifts.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to be flexible, work in a changing environment, and work as part of a highly functional team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sawmill manufacturing processes, electricity, hydraulics, and mechanics.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. is looking for an Industrial Electrical Apprentice. The successful candidate will also have a good eye for detail and can handle stressful situations in a positive manner.  Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain and make repairs necessary for the safe, efficient operations of the mill during the assigned shift.

 

Requirements:

  • A high-school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be safety conscious, self-motivated, and willing to work as a team player.
  • Willing to ask questions if lack of understanding. Willing to take and give feedback, criticism.
  • Must have flexible schedule – overtime, weekends.
  • Be adaptable, work where needed.
  • Willing to work in any conditions.
  • Completion of an accredited electrical program is preferred but not required in your consideration for this position.
  • Have a strong desire, dedication and determination to succeed, by continually improving skills through on the job training and various offered educational opportunities
    • Have some introductory experience with PLC’s and Ladder Logic knowledge
    • Elementary knowledge of programming and troubleshooting PLCs to include Allen Bradley (RSLogix500 and Control Logix)
    • Have some limited experience installing, configuring, repairing and maintaining various brands of AC and DC electronic drives and soft starts
    • Have some basic experience in configuration and calibration of a wide variety of sensors
    • Some experience in configuring ,set up and troubleshooting industrial network would be a plus
